You'll find it near the village of Moresby Parks, just a few miles from Whitehaven in West Cumbria. A quiet, hidden spot that's easy to reach whether you're driving, cycling, or walking, Walkmill is a great place to spend some time and explore if you're in the area.

From coalmine to community woodland

Now a vibrant space, full of trees and wildlife, Walkmill keeps one foot in the past, reminding us of the important history of coal mining in the area, while at the same time being a wonderful example of how nature can heal and thrive, even on land that was once a busy industrial site.
